Dear MCLS Community,

Two brief announcements:

*1. *As you may be aware, the MCLS training board has started activity in
recent months. The MCLS training board aims to create learning and
engagement opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, research
staff, postdocs, and pre-service teachers and to build a stronger sense of
community amongst MCLS trainees.

The MCLS training board currently consists of the three founding members:
Andy Ribner, Isabella Starling Alves, and Julia Bahnmueller who - in
conversation with the governing board - formulated the bylaws of the MCLS
trainee board and started to put into place a social media presence and
some initial trainee activities. Trainees interested in getting involved
may join the MCLS trainee community on Twitter
<https://twitter.com/mclstrainee>, Facebook
<https://www.facebook.com/groups/MCLStrainees/?ref=share>, and/or Slack
<https://join.slack.com/t/mclstrainees/shared_invite/zt-dvqxt6fq-RZFQIzVH0v8sM716NTMhew>.
The training board will ultimately consist of six elected members;
nominations for the three open positions are open now

virtual MCLS trainee brown bag on *Embodied Cognition in Math Education and
Cognition* with input from Jasmine Ma and Korbinian Moeller *this Friday*
May 15, 11am EST//2pm (BST/UTC+1). A link will be sent around on Thursday.

Thanks!
