Post-Doctoral Fellowship Opportunity

Expressions of interest are being accepted for applications for a Banting Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Carleton University in the Department of Cognitive Science.

Area: Mathematical Cognition, NSERC Fundable.
Supervisor: Jo-Anne LeFevre; Departments of Cognitive Science and Psychology
Eligibility: Banting PDFs are available to excellent applicants who have received their Ph.D. between September 15, 2018 and September 30, 2022 (inclusively) and before taking up the award. Both Canadian and international applicants are welcome.
Term: The award is for two years (non-renewable), at $70,000 Cdn. per year. See details here: https://banting.fellowships-bourses.gc.ca/en/app-dem_elig-adm.html
Process: The first step is a screening of candidates at the level of the faculties (i.e., Arts and Social Sciences). If approved, the next step is an internal review (i.e., within Carleton); successful applicants will then be forwarded to the external committee. These fellowships are extremely competitive and most likely to be successful for candidates with very strong records of publication. Successful applicants must start between April and September of 2022.
Deadline: May 4th, for expressions of interest. The actual application, if approved to go forward, will be due June 13th, for internal review.

This position is directed to applicants whose interests are in fundamental cognitive processes in mathematical cognition. Currently we have projects on ordinal processes and arithmetic, rational number processing, working memory in math cognition and interests in a wide-range of related issues. Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and excellent writing skills are desirable for this position.

Expressions of interest should include (a) current CV, (b) a short description of your research interests (1 – 2 single spaced pages), and (c) a brief rationale for why you would be interested in this opportunity to:
