Hi everyone,

Earlier this year, the National Science Foundation released a Dear Colleague Letter (https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2021/nsf21066/nsf21066.jsp?org=NSF) to help mitigate the project and career impacts of the pandemic. The main focus of this opportunity is to provide funding to either extend current postdocs or create new postdoctoral opportunities off existing NSF grants. I'm planning on submitting a request for a line, but need to actually have a candidate identified in advance of submission. Also, the deadline for submission of the request is by December 31--so I would need to identify the candidate fairly quickly (there is some paperwork that needs to be done before submitting in terms of writing about alignment with the project etc.). This individual's research interests would also need to be highly aligned with my CAREER grant (https://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/showAward?AWD_ID=1749294&HistoricalAwards=false).

If you are potentially interested in working with me, please let me know by the end of this month (October 31st). Send me an email with your CV and a brief (no more than one page) cover letter indicating your interest and alignment with my lab and projects, commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and your career goals.

Best,

David

P.S. Faculty with active NSF grants--you should look into this for yourself and talk with your program officer.
