The Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology (HDQM) in
the College of Education at the University of Maryland, College Park, is
seeking applications for *two full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in
the Human Development program at the assistant professor level to start
August 2024.*

The Human Development (HD) program offers both graduate and undergraduate
degrees. The graduate program includes two specialization areas,
Developmental Science and Educational Psychology. The undergraduate Early
Childhood & Early Childhood Special Education (EC/ECSE) is a
cross-departmental teacher education program for students who are
interested in teaching young children with and without disabilities. The
Human Development undergraduate program explores the biological,
psychological, sociological, and cultural characteristics of learning and
development across the lifespan through small class environments and
internship experiences.

Both faculty positions will involve research, teaching, mentorship, and
collaboration in the Human Development Graduate program. One position will
be aligned with our Human Development Undergraduate Major, and the second
position will be aligned with the Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special
Education (EC/ECSE) program.

We welcome applicants who conduct research in any area of human
development. We are especially interested in scholars whose research
includes one or both important areas of study, namely, research that is:

   - Centered on the development of infants, children, or families from
historically excluded groups (e.g., racial and ethnic groups, immigrants),
or in understudied contexts (e.g., rural settings, under-resourced
communities), and/or at the intersection of human development and education.
   - Focused on or has the potential to be translational and/or lead to the
   development of intervention studies.

For the position that will be associated with the EC/ECSE program,
experience in and/or knowledge of early childhood classrooms/education in
the public school setting is especially valued.

For more information, please see the University of Maryland Jobs Portal (
http://ejobs.umd.edu) for position 105380. The best consideration date
is *September
15, 2023*.
