Join us THIS Wednesday, December, 10 at 7:30am PST / 10:30am EST / 4:30pm CEST for our December Special, How to talk science to your grandma: practical introduction to science communication.

The Mathematical Cognition and Learning Society (MCLS) is excited to host a trainee special focused on science communication.
Featured Speakers:

  *
Elvira Antonucci — Science communicator, SISSA Medialab - Trieste (Italy)
  *
Marta Fornasier — Science communicator and mathematician, SISSA Medialab - Trieste (Italy)
     *   Elvira and Marta design and facilitate educational and orientation activities for schools and the public, with a particular focus on informal learning and active participation. They are in charge of projects with schools, such as the program "SISSA for Schools", and the Children's University of SISSA, of which Elvira is the project manager.

What to Expect:

  *   Short presentations by the speakers about themselves and their work
  *   Quick introduction to science communication: what it is and what it is not
  *   Practical tips and examples on how to communicate science effectively
  *   Q&A session
