The Center for Educational Research and Action (Era) at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position to begin as early as September 1, 2026.

The postdoctoral scholar will collaborate on educationally relevant research in the domain of mathematics with Dr. Clarissa A. Thompson and Dr. Nicole McNeil. This position is ideal for candidates interested in interdisciplinary work spanning cognitive, developmental, and educational psychology, with a focus on advancing theory and practice in learning and instruction.

The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year, contingent on satisfactory performance and continued funding. Salary is aligned with the NIH pay scale<https://www.niaid.nih.gov/grants-contracts/salary-cap-stipends>.

Qualifications

Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. by September 1, 2026 in one of the following fields: Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Educational Psychology, Learning Sciences, Cognitive Science, or a closely related discipline.

Strong methodological and statistical skills, experience working with children, a record of research productivity, a commitment to open science practices, and an interest in education-focused research are expected.
