*This is a message from the MCLS trainee board.* Dear MCLS Community,

This is a reminder that it is time to welcome new members to our board! The
nominations for the 2026-2028 MCLS Trainee Board term are open and due by
May 24! Note that all positions, except for the Junior Co-Chair (who cycles
from Junior Co-Chair to Senior Co-Chair to Past Chair over three years)
will be elected for a two-year term.

The MCLS Trainee Board aims to create learning and engagement opportunities
for undergraduate and graduate students, research staff, postdocs, teaching
assistants, and pre-service teachers and to build a stronger sense of
community amongst MCLS trainees.

Megan Merrick (Communications Chair), and Maristella Lunardon (Policy and
Practice Chair) will stay on the board to complete their second year of a
two-year term. Taylor-Paige Guba will cycle from Junior Co-Chair to
Senior-Chair, as indicated in our bylaws.

Nominations for open positions on the MCLS trainee board

Elections for the remaining MCLS trainee board positions (Junior Co-Chair,
Research Chair, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) Chair, and
Secretary) will be held End of May/Beginning of June. Winners will be
informed before the annual MCLS in Padova as well as announced at the
annual MCLS meeting in June.

All MCLS trainees (i.e., MCLS members or associate members who do not have
a full-time faculty position or equivalent) are kindly invited to nominate
themselves or a colleague for one of the open positions (see descriptions
below; for further questions please get in touch with us via
mclstrainee at gmail.com or on our slack channel).

Diversity and inclusion are part of the MCLS Trainee identity. We highly
encourage trainees from all career stages, age, race, ethnicity, gender,
sexual orientation, physical and mental ability, and other forms of
diversity to be nominated.

The deadline for nominations is Sunday, May 24th.
