Commuting in Hong Kong

For ease of traveling in Hong Kong, you can purchase an Octopus Card at any MTR station customer service kiosk, including the one at the airport. You may pay HK$39 to buy the Octopus card or pay a HK$50 deposit to loan the card, which is refundable upon return of the card.

The Octopus card is an electronic cash top-up card used to pay for public transport, like the MTR, buses, and minibuses, and to make purchases at participating shops and restaurants. It can be topped up at any MTR station or convenience store, including the 7-Eleven located at the EdUHK campus.

You can use Citymapper or Google Maps to navigate Hong Kong.

Traveling to The Education University of Hong Kong

The Education University of Hong Kong Tai Po campus is located at 10 Lo Ping Road, Tai Po district, New Territories, Hong Kong S.A.R., China. The closest MTR station is Tai Po Market MTR station, and the next nearest is the University MTR station. They both lie on the MTR’s East Rail Line.

The shuttle ride will take about 15-20 minutes. We will update this webpage with the shuttle bus schedule once available.

Public Buses

You can take one of the red KMB buses (73F, 74K, 74F) or a small green minibus (26) to our campus. Please refer to our university website for the latest information about public buses, including route and costs: https://www.eduhk.hk/eo/transportation/types-transport/public-transport

Taxi

If you choose to arrive by taxi, the Tai Po Market MTR station is the closest MTR station. The taxi stand is located near Exit B. The taxi ride will take about 15 minutes and costs about HK$70-80.
